Kind of... They re-applied for the Trademark status so they are able to use the Descent name. As for the copyright, I believe that goes to the original creator. So that is the part others here have referred to as rights held by Mike and Matt.

That page is just for Descent 4 and that was only a mod. But I did add it to external links on the Descent wiki a year ago I believe.

Yes, once you leave the level it will crash D3. I don't think it does it 100% of the time if you have mercenaries installed, but I'm not sure on that; I've had a couple of reports of crashing from some people that have merc. I just tested it on my LAN through a dedicated server, I didn't receive any trouble using the BP. The only thing I've heard about is an error when they leave using the BP.
