No need to be snarky about it, especially when you don't look at the details. Shadowfury mentioned ( un snarkily ...

As for me, the reason I don't play Descent 3 is that it doesn't run natively in Mac OS X, so I have to launch the Classic Mac OS 9 emulation environment in Mac OS X in order to run Descent 3. Intel-Mac users are left totally out of the D3 party, because Classic emulation doesn't run whatsoever on ...

Yeah, I'm not digging the exhaust blades so much. I think basic black would still do very nicely. The newer missiles are better, but still a few things, at least IMHO -- feel free to ignore them: -- in the second conc image (first of homer), you have a conc facing towards you, and it has too much ...

simX: I think those gray stripes are intentional... after all, the gray versus blue is how I always differentiated between homers and concs. Maybe in the original they're just artifacts of the rendering process, but I kind of like them being obvious. No, the gray stripes are shadows. The concussion ...

Doesn't look like a crayon. ;) 3 suggestions: first, the bottom of the missile would look better black, IMHO, like the original. Second, the ...

Re: Please deactivate my membership
Uh-oh, simX, I really appreciate your support, but I do not at all think like that. I simply consider that forum my work place, and I am trying to keep it in good condition. That's a responsibility I see on my behalf, and I will act accordingly. And that is why I close bug reports not posted in the ...

[FULL DISCLOSURE: I am the Mac developer of D2X-XL. I work with Diedel on fixing some of the problems that exist on the Mac side of things. I communicate with him on a regular basis. Yes, PC users have successfully joined my games. The 2 built-in trackers will suffice (and they are automatically enabled), since everybody who has D2X-XL will also automatically use these trackers. As I said before, though, this never precluded you from playing netgames since version 1.6.130. It ...

Re: Weapon Model shots
Meh, I don't like the look of that one. It looks like a crayon, with its bright blue color. I think a realistic redo of the Descent 2 homing missile would look better.Aus-RED-5 wrote: Using Descent 3 models.

Yay, now if only there were netgames to be played, unless there have been since I last checked. I mentioned this in a few other threads, but it's worth mentioning again. There've been consistent games for the past week and a half occurring from 8 PM to 1 AM PST, if you're able to join during that ...

Mac users can now host D2X-XL games in .151...
Just a post to let all the Mac users out there know -- version 1.6.151 now allows you to host netgames. Versions 1.6.130 to 1.6.150 only allowed you to join them. Diedel found the bug that was causing things to get messed up.
So.. in other words.. yay!

Re: The D2X-XL Publicity Project
I'm trying to think of ways to publicize D2X-XL....cause I'm so bored of being the only one avaliable to multiplay at one time :P Ideas: 1) Slashdot 2) Digg 3) Popular blog advertisements 4) IGN, Gamespy, ect. I already tried Slashdot one time, but my article was not posted (suprisenly *sarcasm ...

Oh, and while I'm at it, here's another bug: demos created while playing multiplayer games do not show opposing ships, powerups, or weapons in the demo. Diedel: We should find some time to look into some of the networking problems we've been having in D2X-XL. I'll poke around in the code and see what I can find out about the save games problem. Mac OS X users: get ready to rumble...
Once upon a time there was an endian issue, an alignment issue, and two people determined to get Mac OS X network play to work, who were all duking it out. Guess which one won? :D :) :D :o Get it while it's hot -- version 1.6.130 . Mac OS X network play, now being served. P.S. Quick note: auto ...

Did you test Glass House with my switch config on your computer? Yes, and it works fine. Like I said, I'm not too knowledgeable about ...
