I believe what she meant is that it's not like it's simply meaningless, but instead is expressly forbidden. (First Commandment should cover it, as sorcerous powers would be obtained from some power other than God, and the First Commandment prohibits worshipping other gods or false idols.)

), they are more or less just different interpretations of the same deity, so that's what I was meaning by "the same". Poor choice of words, no matter the case, though, as you'd have to be in my head to know what I meant.

If you feel that you need to constantly remind people of YOUR religion, then you're a zealot and you should be stricken from this earth. I don't get offended by people doing that but I think it's stupid that they do. Don't put your views on me, and I won't on you. Simple as that.

Agreed... but what's wrong with being a zealot?

Your response was the typical Secular Fundamentalist response -- silence about religion is the secular fundamentalist way, and you just told everyone that unless they do it the way YOUR religion specifies, they're a zealot and should be stricken from the earth. "Don't tell me your religious views" is secular fundamentalism -- and such intolerance shows that you have a problem.

Also: there's a difference between feeling the need to constantly reming people of your religion, and living it in such a way that people will constantly be reminded of it. If you're sitting there and you think "it's time for me to remind people of my religion again" (whether it's with a "Jesus saves" or a "Darwin is awesome") then you're a hypocrite preaching about a religion you use as a part-time mask. But if your religion comes up because it's completely integrated with your personality, then you're just being yourself. Never take anyone's religion seriously if they don't live it.

Wierd, instead of feeling like someone is trying to "force their views on me" when they say something like "God bless you"...or "Jesus loves you" I feel humbled, honored and unworthy of such a blessing even though I'm doubtful of Gods existence, but never angered or offended.

Someone sharing good wishes for you shouldn't scare you or anger you...wait for them to tell you you need to give them ca$h to fulfill some devine destiny, then you can get pissed off

Lets see if I get this right:
You are sitting in a mechanical contraption known to fall from the sky for any number of reasons...and you're objecting to someone saying "God Bless You"?
I just wonder who you will be crying out too when you see engines in flames and the plane is in a death spiral?
