Here is what has/will happen.
1. Server setup (install OS, and other apps) [done]
2. Test server and let burn in for a while [done]
3. During test phase do several DBB restores to work out kinks [done]
4. Install server at co-location site [done]
5. Shutdown the old DBB and back it up
6. Restore the DBB on new server
7. More testing
8. Change DNS
Today the new server will be installed at the co-location site.
A temporary DNS entry has been created and we will give you that address after the move. KB will put a redirect on the old DBB to forward you to the new server until the DNS system catches up with the change.
RC
edit:
The server is now installed.

Well if every thing goes smooth (it should go smooth, we?ve practiced it) it should only take a couple hours for the Shutdown, Backup, Restore steps. We won't shutdown the DBB until we are actually ready to move the data. DNS on the other hand will take several days to fully replicate the change.SilverFJ wrote:How long you think it'll take? After the move the system will be functional but some of the graphics and cosmetic stuff will need fixing.
