My cat's late sister, DI, would follow people around and come to you if you call her name. She tends to chase peeps a lot too.
All that \"fetching\" stuff reminded me of when the cats would bring us weird things. DI would catch moles and leave them in our yard... Freya, my current cat, once caught a bird and left it on the doorstep on Father's Day. Guess she was giving my dad a present lol.
Talkative cats are really cool. This feels like you're actually having a conversation with them because each time they respond, the tone and pitch of the voice are different.
Most all cats will drop dead animals at the house. It's food they are offering you since you are a part of their litter.
Cats are social animals (it's only false perception that they are not). If you raise them like you would a puppy, they will look to you the same way. Every cat I've owned knew its name, and would show up if I called it. They know what 'No' means if you use it consistently. (They may forget soon enough afterwards, but they know it when you say it)
I had a few cats that used to go hiking with me when I lived upstate. I'd be a mile or two out from the house, and the cat would be following right along.
Talkative cats are brats. Mine has decided to speak complete sentences to me when her water bowl is empty, or she decided the wall needs paint. Cats only vocalize for humans, they don't much bother with it otherwise, so they are actually imitating you. Cats have the most dynamic vocal range of pets except birds, I think.
