You need a third choice - A repressed gay who's self loathing. Most male homophobes fall into that category, especially ones that like to show off their bods to the public, even when they look like Putin does, with man boobs instead of a six pack.

Really? He's balding and what muscles he has are covered in a thin layer of fat. AND, he has man boobs. Plus, any self-respecting gay would want him posing in his tighty whities or speedos.

Even though it is a little over the top I totally appreciate Putin's repeated showing of his looks. I think it shows a man with smarts, athleticism, courage and confidence. Of course, it is also egotistical and motivated by PR more than anything.

I don't think Putin is a homosexual. However, overemphasis on "manliness" (or feminism for that mater) is not any different than exaggerated homosexuality. People shouldn't define themselves by their gender or sexual orientation. There are better things in the world to define yourself by.

I don't think he's gay. From all I've heard (and I can't say I spend a lot of time on this) he's just a "bit" self absorbed and considers himself the ultimate "man's man". so he's acting "cool". Russian culture is a bit different then ours. Well... in his little world it is anyways.
