Got Halo, played it, won the T-shirt and worn it out -- how can ppl get a blast from Halo ? It's the most boring game I've played so far.. You should have asked in Marketplace, I'd have sold you my copy for $20
hahaha, you buy halo after we all stopped playing. nice. i'll give you some beatings on sunday if you wanna play though, i can get you in on a scrim or something so you can play halo like its meant to be played - in an organized team environment.
(the box team is D3k if the website didn't make it painfully obvious)

So this is where the Halo Halcyon came from. Y'know, I really wish people would ask before they totally rip off my work - especially since the Halo interpretation is frelling ugly.
ace, make sure you download halo ce (google it) if you want some good players to play with. the competative scene is CE and the casual is PC (i.e. newbs)
Shoot. I clicke this thread thinking something monumental and life changing had occured. Like maybe your brain cell had multiplied or your nads dropped or you sprouted pubes or something. Instead, you bought halo.
I should take the time to come up with a good "STFU AceCombat" pic because Id getto use itore thamt my STFU Mobius pic, but youre not worthy.

It isn't Descent anymore - and see how you put in your own words-- Interpretation - then hence it isn't a RIP, otherwise the wave guy would be rolling in the millions from coca-cola.

Someone should at least give him credit "Based on orginal Descent 3 level by ...."
To be fair, you don't build levels, and so you have no right to tell me to "deal with it." I don't like it when people blatantly take my work without giving me any credit or permission. It's like taking some creative work of yours - artwork, a story, a level - and then passing it off as their own. Halcyon is not public domain. If someone wanted to clone it or port it, they should ask me and I suspect that unless it looks like utter crap, I'd allow it. But I think I'm at least owed an e-mail asking. Least they could do for an idea that wasn't theirs.
Interesting comment coming from someone who gets all bent out shape if anyone borrows bandwidth without asking.
To be fair, as far as I know Halcyon no longer costs Kyouryuu any time or money, Stresstest's bandwidth does cost time and money and probably always will.

And considering I deal with that issue on my own, what's wrong with my comment? If Kyouryuu had a pair, he might consider some alternatives to just whining here about it. At least I take action. Similar, yes, I know, but dissimilar as well.
It's a bit too late now. The level came out sometime in early June (the second or third). I'd guess that it was downloaded some 25,000 times and has been posted on nearly 50 HaloCE sites. Plus, people like the level for its Covenant theme and crazy vehicle shootouts and probably wouldn't care. It'd be impossible to undo.
I actually never knew the extent of the Halo Halcyon map beyond the Levels4You POTD of it one day. I never really bothered to investigate it further.

Like what? I'm not some vindictive monster who's going to go out and seek revenge against the "unknown" level author. It's not like I even put a legal disclaimer in the readme like a lot of authors do. I just assume people will do the right thing. Besides, there are conflicting credits as to who originally made it. Levels4You listed Skyalmian as the author. Another Halo site listed Team [] as the author. Either way, it's no skin off my back to let it go. I'm "whining" to make it obvious, in the future, that I don't want people shamelessly taking my work unless they first ask. That simple courtesy is not so much to ask, is it?
