Need help with 1.4 patch

I guess I just don't understand how to patch a game properly...I went to DBB and d/l the patch then I unzipped it to D3 internet file and nothin'... then I tried D3 missions file and still when I open the game it says ver. 1.o on the menu screen(you know, down in the right corner). I feel stupid...

you should be able to double click the patch exe, then point it to where your descent3.exe or main.exe is....
