I just saw Peter Jennings try to twist John McCains words into an indictment of Bush and the senator refused to play along. Then once McCain was off camera he put a completely opposite spin on the senators comments and ascribed a ton of anti-Bush sentiment to him. Such a fine journalist
I guess Peter is having a hard time with the impending Bush victory and for that I must say I'm eternally grateful for it!
If Bush wins, maybe they could have a celebrity Survivor for all the entertainers who have "threatened" to leave the country. Imagine the fun when Alec Baldwin and Eddie Vedder wrestle with deciding which piece of Barbara Streisand to eat first. Then, pre-emptive hostilies ensue over her nose.
Of course, that is why I turn to CNN. Fox news is not the only channel I watch and in fact it was the least channel I watched since I was intrigued by the other station's projections and commentary. But Peter jennings is a very arrogant journalist and I dont like him and his nearly insulting presentation of his special religious series, but that is subject to another thread and anyone who hijacks a thread is a jerk.
And I second that PS. As long as bush has Florida and Ohio, Bush has it.
Jennings is getting truly pathetic now. He's avoiding updating the Ohio data and is trying to ad lib and direct the broadcast while he's on camera. People are confused...graphics don't match the reports, they don't know what to talk about and are asking him live what to do....pretty soon he's going to start re-runs of Gilligans island I think hehe.
i think it has nothing to do with jennings's personal views / wishful thinking and everything to do with ohio still capable of going to kerry (however unlikely it is ).
He's getting back to normal but for awhile he was really losing it. He even went into a report on Iraq when all the other networks were deep into the Ohio issues. He wouldn't mention Ohio until the proposition of lawyers came into the discussion.
It's all a waste of time now though because it looks like Kerry won't even have the margin close enough to need the provisional ballots.
As to his personal views...isn't he the one who declared "america had a tantrum" when they voted for the republican takeover of congress in '96.
Ohio's secretary of state said that if the margin of victory was by less votes than there are provisional ballots, then those ballots would be counted.
Good bye, election results... See you in two weeks, assuming you aren't acosted by bands of roaming lawyers.
