dogfighting is fun i enjoy it... it takes a lot of practice to master dogfighting this is why i have stuck with descent for so long because of the dogfights any how entertaining they can be.
cannery is a great level i can say u can play the cannery as a full 360 degree level some other levels dont have a 360 feel the cannery does
i must be the third person to like nocturnal that level has always been one of my favorites but i dont think i have tried the descent 2 version.
Not to mention unless it has changed in the last 6 months whollycow's connection quality is horrible, even when you win playing someone who is incredibly skippy is no fun.
You never got to play much with Bah. Its wierd, 1on1 Krom could always take it to me more then bah could, (or chose to anyway), but you get in those huge TA games and bah was just devistating.
Outside of d3k I could name a handful that could hang with either one of them.
Some players just excel in bigger games... I remember in D1, I'd regularly get in a big open game filled with players who'd beat me pretty solidly 1v1. I'd usually be #3 or #4 out of 8, when you'd expect me to be #7 or #8.
Part of it has to do with the fact that extreme dogfighting sk1llz aren't as big an asset when there are more people shooting at you. If you're ratting, you typically only have 1-2 players fighting with you, but if you dog in a game with several players, it's very likely you'll find yourself being shot at by 3-4 others.
Other tactics and strategies -- like firing randomly down hallways vs. being stealthy, or sniping vs. close fighting -- are more or less useful depending on how many others are in the game. I bet you could find things about the way Bah and Krom play that would make it clear why they perform differently 1v1 or in big TA games.
i never was good at d3, but in d1 when the rare occasion would come up that i'd play someone who could dance with me in a dogfight i would have a chubby
I like a lot of stuff. MD can be nice at times, and other times not so nice. 1v1's are cool for an occasional game, but too slowpaced. Dogfighting is always fun. Large BI3 games are often too easy cause all u gotta do is lob down the hallways for an almost guaranteed kill. Small BI3 games of 3-6 players are awesome. There are also a lot of other levels I enjoy, though they are not played as often.
What I enjoy most is COMPETITION, so why don't u lazy hasbeens re-install D3 and give a fight? It's not as fun beating people that I know I can beat over and over again.
1 on 1s aren't played for their pace; people who play them usually do it simply to pit their skills and minds against each other. Despite all appearances, in Descent the games can get pretty intense.
