i momentarily fergot, and only remembered again half an hour after the hour was over .

anyway, if i turned the lights off i'd probably save like 20watts. We barely have lights on in the house anyway and the ones on are all low power lights.

The TV was using about 300watts, and there was no call to turn that off (only lights), but hey i guess it's the spirit of turning off lights that counts hehe.

That actually sounds pretty significant, being only from lights. And you know not everyone participated, so for the ones who did to take that much demand off the system actually strikes me as rather remarkable. It's but a small demonstration of what we can accomplish if enough people do care.

My workplace didn't do anything about it, and I was working when it happened. Mind you, Tim Hortons is BS. (I'm a student and I work at Timmies)

It was funny to see a load of customers complain about it though. Then ordering lots of coffee.

I'm not really into all this \"save the earth!\" mumbo jumbo thing.

At least, I don't think I am.

I have bought a few reusable bags to replace the use of plastic bags and considered solar energy for our future house, but that's just it so far. All the constant talks about lowering the use of energy that hurts our environment such as the carbon monixide from our cars and such is starting to get to me. Yah, I've been aware for a long time that they hurt our environment, but I find myself mentally thinking \"well, better use less of that for the sake of clean air\" or \"save the newspapers so it can be recycled\".

All in all, I'm starting to get that feeling that there's more that needs to be done to help reduce the harmful effects on our planet from our actions.

Maybe it's the ignorance that's starting to dissolve. I should do some research when the semester is over to figure out for myself how bad our planet's condition is in. Obviously, if things keep going the way they've been going (aside from population growth), in a couple centuries our planet will be in really bad condition. Not something I'd want my grandkids and so on to go through.
