Water Wall

Always wondered what a tsunami looks like to a ship out at sea in deeper water? Here's some video of a Japanese ship riding out the most recent one. Doesn't look like much until they ride over the top! I like the sailors reaction, even in Japanese. Whoooooooooooooa! A huge long bulge of water coming right at you, followed by several others.

interesting, I've never seen a Tsunami wave at sea before.
but I have seen bigger waves in the IO when I was in the Navy

That's true, but there's something frightening about a big, long, horizon to horizon swell approaching your ship. It doesn't look, well, normal.

That's true, but there's something frightening about a big, long, horizon to horizon swell approaching your ship. It doesn't look, well, normal.
I learned to sail on a small boat in the middle of speed-boat central. Arrgh!
