Ac97vsHd audio

I bought some frontx ports for my pc to move the sound ports to a more convenient spot. My case has HD AUdio and AC97 connectors but the frontx stuff looks to be just AC97. Do I have to disable HD audio in the bios to make the AC97 connector work? Does that change the pin assignment on the header somehow?

Yep that works! Thanks.
Edit: Nope I was wrong. This is what I purchased

By their descriptions I can't figure out which of these wires is supposed to kill the speakers when the headphones are plugged in. Right now I've got it set back like in that diagram and if I plug it into the header I get nothing for the mic or any sound. Plugging the headphones in also does not kill the main speakers.

DOH, read the fine print
Diagram 2: The 2 pairs of pin for front and back Line-Out's are usually connected with jumpers, i.e. the pins are shorted if no front headphone port is installed. You need to remove the jumpers.
