Pritty graphics alone just doesn't cut it for me. Id rather be entertained by new and innovative gameplay that the industry today is lacking.

it got reviewed by PCG (94%), apparently, its more than "pretty graphics." Nothing really intuitive, but its supposedly a very, very good game.

Maybe when the price goes down.
But $50 for a gfx engine demo and a few frights isn't enough to justify that price.

I'll spend my cash on HL2, which will have significantly less steep system requirements.

Sure.
I've read in places the
requirements are similar to
DOOM3's

Unfortunately PCG's credibility as of late has been going down and has turned into a crappy magazine. Most can attest to that.

Doom ]|[ is $129.95 here. Pre-ordered.
Paid for it without a second thought.
Only problem is - need to spend $1800 on new bits to be able to get more than 20 FPS probably...

Not a chance. Does the world need another Doom?

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one D3, and it involves Fusion

.
Even if I was interested, my computer's 3 years old, and I'm not interested in upgrading

.

Don't you mean innovative?

I got into Doom 2 for a while but tired of it quickly. That game just doesn't do anything for me.

And tetrad, maybe I do... Maybe I do...

It's a pretty game that just tries to constantly scare the ★■◆● out of you. I see no apeal in that.

God, I remember when my dad got the shareware of Doom running... I was 8 years old and scared stiff whenever he poked his head around a corner and a Cacodemon blasted him to death.
The only way to play Doom is with the lights down and the Flux Capactitor set to 1994.
