P.S. What do you think of the '05 Mustang's design going back to the classic look? I think it's a huge change for the better.

Love it, I couldn't stand the '94-04 design. Too Probe like for me.

They have some great aftermarket body kits for the car. I wish I could afford one so I could match the color and stripe job to my classic.

It's funny isn't it, looking at cars from more than 15 years ago: high profile tyres and tiny wheels. The tyres look like giant round balloons! Are those 14" rims you got there Clutch?

I wonder what it'd look like with 18" and 30 profile tyres? Probably terrible...

Yup, the stock 14" sizing from the factory. I don't care for the newer all rim and no tire look. I think the meaty tires look tough as hell.

Anyways, one look at Eleanor from Gone in 60 seconds (II) will show you what 17" and low profiles look like. The only things I like on that car are the front end, the upper and lower side scoops, and the paint. Everything else is too '70s for me.

I agree, too large rims don't fit the rest of the car too well. Good of you to stay stock!

Damn I need to do more work on the 323i and the track racer The first is also as stock as it can get, while the racer is as non-stock as it can possibly get. Basically I keep the shell but everything else has been uprated

That's the way to do it Trichord, I have a '68 Dan Gourney Special Cougar in the back yard, I'm going to convert it to a replica of Dan's red 67 race car. (way cheaper than trying to put it back to stock )

Yeah - plus it's silly to change a car from "balloon tyres" to low-profiles, because the suspension is radically altered: becomes MUCH stiffer due to the amount of give in those old fat tyres.

That may not be a bad thing... I had some 15 inchers laying around so I'm riding them instead of the stock 13 inchers to check it out, and it handles much better.

Too bad I'll have to revert to 13 inch, as the 15 inchers are meant to carry slicks
