Its the exact same concept as Trillian, only it supports far more IM protocols in the form of plugins. The whole project is open source, thus free. I've been using it since the 0.1 days (which was just over two and a half years ago), and quite frankly I haven't looked back. The interface is very clean and efficient, and doesn't use very much memory at all. The functionality it has are the actual useful functions of the official IM clients, so if you're looking for something on the heavy "n00b" scale, then stick to the official memhogging clients. If theres a function that you don't see that you like, more than likely theres already a plugin available that enables it.
I highly recommend the smileyadd and netdetect plugins.
Sounds intriguing. I may have to check it out. Does it support audio chatting, particularly with regards to AIM? I know Trillian has some sort of trouble with audio chat for the basic version, even though it's listed under their "supported" features.
I like Miranda, but the Windows "Guest" account doesn't play nice with it. When I have guests, I want them to use the Guest account, but Miranda for some reason won't work correctly under that.
About time considering it was buggy as hell with the combo of plugins I use.
After Trillain 3 was released, I went and found this. Never went back.
For the newbies, go to www.clanmob.net and under downloads go to Main. I have "MOB Miranda IM" which is an installer version I made that comes with plugins we picked that we think are useful, our own "flavor" but the same program. Although I need to update it with the new .exe, you can do it yourself by simply copying and pasting into the folder.
MD-2389: I'm talking about in the message window, not the logs. See here - New version of SRMM module, no "Show Timestamps" button. I'll stick with 0.3.

YER FUNNAH!
What MD said is correct, the part with the "yo" window event log.
