\"Warning: overburning may cause damage to your recording device\" etc.
So much for my LG DVD burner. It won't even read data or music CDs now. I guess I'm in the market for a new one. Probably go Plextor this time.

The latest plextor drives don't impress me much, and definitely not for the price. Get a NEC 3550A.

What's the problem? You burned too many disks? I don't get it ...

Overburning = burning past the 74/80 min barrier, up to the edge of the physical media. Not officially supported by any reader or writer, but a lot give you the option; overburning can usually eek out a few dozen extra megs.

But what's the point? Just for a few dozen megs, why risk screwing up your drive?
Guess it's necessary to have that last season of Family Guy, huh?

Cuz who thinks it will actually kill the drive?
And like krom said Plextor drives haven't been that great for having to pay 2x the price.
I paid $39 shipped for my NEC 3550A off newegg.
