Descent was, pretty much, the first game I ever got into. It came as a demo with my family's first computer. I think I was about seven at the time. I quickly mastered the controls and ate up the subsequent two games, along with the various add-on missions, particularly with D2. Ah, the good 'ol days. I was always more of a single player person. I've never been too great at multiplayer, but did do some D3 on PXO up until a few years ago.
Anyway, I've been following the DBB almost since its inception. I think that I found out about it in summer of '99, maybe a little earlier than that. I posted under a number of aliases, mostly debating inane things like whether Star Wars or Star Trek was better. I've never stopped reading the DBB (mostly because I enjoy the E&C Commentary), but I miss a lot of people who have departed... I remember Yaffy, for crying out loud.

Oh, and I think it's interesting that the community has continued to grow. There are plenty of interesting people who've shown up in the past few years- Bettina, Kilarin, etc. Things are as interesting as ever, I guess. Maybe someday I'll either get Descent running on the windows PC (If I ever get another 3D Pro!), or find games for my main computer, the Mac.
