Well if you were a helpless fish you might have a different perspective on that.Warlock wrote:Give it time PETA will say they kill the helpless fish and they need to shut them off..... and the sad thing is they would.
I don't think they spin fast enough to hurt anything, to be honest.Alter-Fox wrote:Well if you were a helpless fish you might have a different perspective on that.Warlock wrote:Give it time PETA will say they kill the helpless fish and they need to shut them off..... and the sad thing is they would.
Actually plain old wind turbines spin fast enough that some of the regular maintenance is cleaning/repairing the blades because they cut birds in half and get bugs stuck to them. The tips move at upwards of 200 MPH on the bigger ones, so they really are death blades in a manner of speaking.Isaac wrote:I don't think they spin fast enough to hurt anything, to be honest.
That makes sense, though one wonders why the Big Scary Fast-Moving Things with Lights on Them don't scare deer away from heavily-traveled roads in the first place.Krom wrote:Actually deer logic works like this: its easier to evade a rapidly closing predator by running across its path rather than taking the time to turn and run away from it.
It is just unfortunate for the rest of us that this logic does not work on automobiles.
I don't know. I've seen them get almost all the way across the road to the side the car is on, then decide to do a 180 right back into the path of the car. If they'd just kept going, they would have avoided getting smacked. Deer brains.Krom wrote:Actually deer logic works like this: its easier to evade a rapidly closing predator by running across its path rather than taking the time to turn and run away from it.
